Bar- Bee- Cue. Rudy’s BBQ (Nothing for Vegetarians here )

It’s almost worth living in Austin just for the Bar-B-Q alone. Never mind the other cool stuff. I went over to Rudy’s Bar-B-Q on 360 today. I’ve been there several times and have always had good food and service. Most BBQ aficionados would not even list Rudy’s as place that they would recommend. Not because the foods bad but because
they are somewhat of a chain. They have 17 restaurants including 3 here in Austin. I’m not saying that Rudy’s is my favorite BBQ joint in Austin but has been the most consistent so far. Anyway, the Rudy’s that I went to tries
to look and feel like the old fashion country store, where Texas BBQ got it’s start. They have a full on gas station and country store with the added bonus of good BBQ. When you walk in to the area where you order your food you have to walk by iced down feeding trough full of your favorite beverage. Including the Dr. Pepper made
with real suger cane. Then you order your food, which is served on butcher’s paper with white bread. I’ve tried their Brisket, Ribs and Turkey and they’ve all been excellent. After you get your food you can get pickles, onions and jalapenos at the fixins bar. All of the tables at Rudy’s are family style Picnic tables. So if it’s crowded you’ll probably have to sit beside someone at the table. If you live near a Rudy’s Bar-B-Q and eat meat, you should check em out.
