Social Media Camp Austin and Mashable Summer Mash

This past Wednesday (July 30) I attended Social Media Camp Austin, as well as the Mashbale Summer Mash event later that night. Both events were great and well organized. The Social Media Camp was an all day event where anyone could speak on any topic related to social media. One of the most discussed topics was Twitter. Seems as if Twitter is really catching hold, not only with the “where you at” crowd but also with corporate america. Dell said that they have tracked over $500k of sales from twitter. The Austin American Statesman also uses Twitter and said that they will have Twitter streams for ACL and UT Football. All an all it was a great event. Later that night, Mashable.com hosted their SummerMash event, upstairs at Buffalo Billiards. It was a great event as well, but, how can you go wrong with a open bar.
